Explore the historic city of Marrakech, Morocco's'southern gem' and the second oldest Imperial city, which has been an essential destination for merchants and tourists for centuries. The Menara Gardens, the famed Jardin Majorelle, Bahia Palace, and Saadian tombs will all be included on your trip.

Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, which dominates the heart of Marrakech with its 77-meter-high tower. Continue to one of Marrakech's major attractions, Djemaa el-Fna, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the city's primary cultural places. Relax at one of the numerous cafés that surround the area and take in the views. Continue on and explore the various and colorful souks. In Marrakech, spend the night.

Leaving a lasting impression on the people that live there. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed city is reached along a scenic route bordered with argan oil cooperatives.

The windy fishing town, with large beaches and medieval walled medina with towers carved into the cliffs, has long been a favorite resort. Take in the tiny but vibrant medina, walk along the ramparts or beach, or visit the harbor to observe the daily catch.

In June, Essaouira hosts the Gnaouas Music Festival. Overnight at an Essaouira riad. The first night of our 14-day Morocco journey began outside of Marrakech.

Depart for Oualidia from Essaouira. Stop in Safi, a historically Portuguese-occupied town. Safi is well-known as a sardine export hub, but it is arguably best known for its ceramics.

Arrive at Oualidia, a little beach community with a protected lagoon, estuary, and the wild Atlantic Ocean just outside your door.

Walking, birding (especially in spring and autumn), fishing, swimming, kayaking, kite surfing, and surfing are just a few of the activities available in Oualidia. Oualidia is where you'll spend the night.

Continue your trip along the Atlantic Coast by leaving Oualidia towards Rabat. Pass via El Jadida, a tiny Portuguese-controlled coastal city that is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, then stop in Casablanca to see Mohammed V Square and Hassan II's spectacular mosque.

Explore Rabat's Imperial City, including the Mechouar (the ramparts and walls that encircle the Royal Palace), the stately Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower, and the Oudaya Kasbah, which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and has Moroccan artisan galleries. Rabat is where you'll spend the night.

From Marrakech, we continue our 14-day Morocco adventure. Take the magnificent seaside route from Rabat to Tangier. Asilah is a lovely seaside village with whitewashed cottages, blue walls and doors, and several paintings. Tangier, Europe's gateway to Africa, has long been an international melting pot.

Explore Tangier's lively medina and city surrounds, as well as the breathtaking perspective where the Mediterranean and Atlantic waters meet. Overnight in Tangier.

Depart Tangier towards the picturesque mountain hamlet of Chefchaouen, travelling through the Rif Mountains' lush valleys.

Chefchaouen is well-known for its vibrant blue-washed homes and is popular with both visitors and Moroccans, especially during the hot summer months.

Explore Chefchaouen's meandering lanes and tight alleyways, which are home to various souks providing gastronomy and artisan works such as woolen goods, delicate needlework, and goat's cheese; all of which are unique to the North and cannot be found anywhere in Morocco.

Relax in the plaza, go on a farm tour, or go for a stroll in one of the neighboring parks. Chefchaouen night.

After breakfast in the riad, our real tour will begin with a magnificent drive through the rich agricultural hills to the Roman Ruins at Volubilis, an open-air museum in the Rif Mountains.

Volubilis is not as magnificent as the Roman monuments along the Mediterranean coast, but it is nonetheless a laid-back opportunity to imagine a significant part of Moroccan history.

We'll make our way to Meknes, Morocco's fourth imperial city and a 17th-century cultural site, where we'll stop for lunch and explore the ancient massive walls of the medina. Following the launch, we see Bab el Mansour and pay a visit to Moulay Ismail's mausoleum.

Following your excursion to Meknes, we will transport you immediately to Fes, where you will spend the night.

We shall appreciate everything Fes has to offer today by enjoying a guided city tour of Fes.

Fes is the world's oldest and biggest medieval city. Its medina is a sensory overload of fragrances, noises, and sights.

Follow one of the five themed tourist circuits to get around. There are several mosques and castles to see, but keep in mind that only Muslims are permitted to enter Moroccan mosques.

We return to our hotel after seeing dye pits, tanneries, and eateries to prepare for an optional night of Moroccan entertainment and cuisine at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, we will set off on a scenic ride across the Moyen Atlas towards Ifrane, passing through hills covered in forests of cork oak and gigantic cedar, which are home to a few Barbary apes.

We'll get our first look of the south's amazing architecture as we cross gorgeous and serene passes over both the Middle and High Atlas peaks. Lunch at Midelt was arrived over a desolate expanse of brush and sand.

The stunning High Atlas hills towering behind the town create a beautiful backdrop. We will descend into a desert plain in the Ziz river after crossing Tizi-n-Talremt (She-Camel Pass).

We will next go south to Erfoud and Rissani, a vast oasis with over six million palm palms surrounded by several ksour (fortified villages).

Continuing along a beautiful road that symbolizes the shift to desert, we will journey to your wonderful Kasbah hotel at the edge of the golden sand dunes, where you may rest near the swimming pool and enjoy a live concert by a desert blues band.

Wake up to a desert dawn and then ride a camel back to the hotel. You will then have the opportunity to freshen yourself with a shower and have breakfast.

After breakfast, go on a 4WD off-road tour around the dunes via Merzouga's oasis, the nomadic depository, Khamlia village to visit the Gnawa dark skin people's village, originally slaves brought from black Africa, to listen to their spiritual music, then continue to meet desert nomads in their tents and discover a new way of life.

You'll depart for Rissani not far from Merzouga Lake, which is famous for its bird population. This was formerly known as Sijilmassa and was the rendezvous point for salt caravans traveling from Timbuktu, Mali. You'll go through the souk, which sells spices, vegetables, and clothing.

After lunch in Rissani, we return to our Kasbah, where we will be met with a drink of tea and given time to unwind before riding camels into Morocco's tallest dunes.

We'll have enough time to explore the dunes before nightfall. Dinner is provided, and the night is spent in a nomad tent.

We leave the desert and go to Todra Gorge. Morocco's Grand Canyon is a 1000-foot-deep valley surrounded on all sides by steep limestone cliffs.

Today is the day to explore the gorge, from its depths to its dizzying heights. Todra's allure rests in its shifting hues as the sun travels from east to west. We spend the night in the breathtaking Dades.

After breakfast, we will travel through the towns of this picturesque region, passing fields tended by Berber women and framed by the peaks of the High Atlas.

Our drive will next take us to Ouarzazate, where we will proceed off-road down the piste to see Berber nomads in their caves and have a drink of tea with them. From here, we'll go through the Valley of the Roses, famed for its Rose Festival in May, and through Skoura's kasbahs.

Following a visit to Ouarzazate's cinematographic museum, dubbed "Hollywood of Morocco," we will cross the riverbank to Ait Benhaddou. You will have the opportunity to explore some of the destroyed structures and ascend to the top of the hill, where the Agadir (grain storage) gives stunning views over the town and surrounding landscape.

You may even go inside one of the homes and drink a glass of mint tea with some of the locals to get a better sense of how they live. You'll travel north across the High Atlas mountains in the afternoon.

The route, constructed in 1936 by the Foreign Legion, snakes up over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m) and gives breathtaking views of the highlands before dropping via Berber settlements to the plain around Marrakech.

Even today, the term Marrakech inspires thoughts of Arabian Nights scenes: alleys, souks, kiosks, and marketplaces. This fascinating city, dated from the 11th century, never fails to pique the interest of intrepid tourists.
