Itinerary for 2 days from Tangier to Chefchaouen
Your hotel is where we start our 2 days trip from Tangier to Chefchouen. Around 8 in the morning, one of our drivers will come to pick you up. Then, we'll keep going along the coast until we reach the brand-new port of Tangier. From this high point, you can see all of the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar. Then, we'll keep going toward Ceuta, which is a Spanish territory in northern Morocco. Martil, which comes from the Spanish word for "River Martin," is one of the places we'll visit. During the summer, people from all over Morocco come to this beach spot.
Tetouan, which is also called the "white dove," shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to drive to. We will take a walk through the oldest and smallest Medina in all of Morocco. The area has been named a Unesco World Heritage Site because it is a place where people from Morocco and Andalusia meet. Then, we'll take a picture at the roundabout with the Tetouan sign, a dove.
The Akchour Waterfalls are a great place to spend a day in the north. People come from all over, like Tangier, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen, to get away from the busy towns. There are both big and small rivers. The shorter ones can be reached in an hour, while the longer ones take two hours of climbing to reach. Also, if you're not too tired, we can hike to a nearby site called God's Bridge, which is also worth seeing if you have the time. You can also go swimming in the streams. So, if you plan to go during the summer, don't forget to bring your clothing.
If you're interested in this place, get in touch with us and we'll make a 3 days plan just for you. Spend one night in Akchour and the other night in Chaouen.
night at accommdation in chefchaouen.
The second day of our Tangier tours will be spent in Chefchaouen, also called "the blue pearl of Morocco." The whole city is painted in different shades of blue and white, and all of the houses look the same. Because of this, it gets a lot of guests' attention all through the year.
In 1471, Jews and Moors had to flee to the Rif Mountains, where they found Chefchaouen. Some people say they paint it blue to make it look like the sky, and others say it keeps bugs away. So, we don't know what the right answer is right now. Tourists can see a lot of different things. To start, an early morning walk in the Rif Mountains is a great way to see the city come to life and get a good look around. Second, the Akchour waterfalls are the source of a small river called Ras El Ma, which runs straight into the city as you leave the mountains.
The third must see in Chaouen is the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum, which is right in the town square. Here, you can look at information about the place. There are also some very nice grounds and a small art store.
On the west side of the Kasbah, there is a square called Place Outa El Hamam. People come to this square to eat at one of the many bars or restaurants and listen to locals play live music.
After two full days in Chefchaouen, our group will head back to Tangier in the afternoon.
