5 days journey from Marrakech to Merzouga

Our 5 days journey from Marrakech to Merzouga will start from Marrakech. After breakfast, our driver-guide will arrive to the communities along the route to pick you up. The first stop along the route is the well-known town of Ait Ben Haddou.

Ait Ben Haddou is a berber fortified Kasbah where a number of well-known films, including Lawrence Darabie (1962), Bandits (1981), Gladiator (2000), Alexandre (2004), and Kingdom Of Heaven (2005), to mention a few, were shot.

Prior to going to the Hollywood of Africa to see the studio of Ouarzazate and the Kasbah of Taourirte, you will explore the lovely Dades Valley, where you will have a little view of Kasbahs, before arriving at our hotel.

After breakfast, we will depart the Dades valley and continue our journey to the Sahara desert. We will enjoy a panoramic view of the greatest valley of palm palms in Morocco as we drive through the steep, picturesque canyons along our route.

During the middle of the day, we will stop at one of the local eateries for lunch. Merzouga's huge Sahara desert is reached along a path lined with palms. In Merzouga, we will spend the night in the desert and prepare for a camel ride to Berber tents hidden among the dunes and offering a breathtaking vista.

Then, upon arrival at the camp, you will take a shower in the Berber tent where you will spend the night. so that you may stroll barefoot on the smooth sand and independently explore the area. Dinner will be a wonderful Berber dish freshly made.

We'll end the night by performing Berber music on drums and dancing beneath the sky (dinner and breakfast). The next day will be quite busy, so you will need to relax.

After breakfast, you will go on a 4x4 safari to uncover the treasures and secrets that the Sahara desert holds. You will drive across the RALLY DAKAR course among the vast dunes to stimulate your excitement.

Then you will visit a nomad household and have tea with them. You will then be taken to the KHAMLIYA village. Khamliya village is a little settlement near Merzouga center. This community is mostly inhabited by slaves transported during the era of slavery.

It is also regarded as the fundamental basis of Gnaoua music. In this hamlet, you will hear the music of the Gnaoua. Following that, you will visit the Srij Lake. This body of water is seasonal.

It is situated on the outskirts of Merzouga's golden dunes. It is a stopover for birds migrating from Europe to southern Africa. We will have lunch at one of the local eateries and sample Berber pizza.

Following lunch, you have free time. You will be escorted to a camel park before dusk in order to begin your camel ride to the oasis tent in the midst of the desert. On your route to camp, you will pause in the middle of the large dunes to watch the sunset, after which you will continue your caravan to camp. This camp will provide you with a true nomad experience.

This campsite has all of the necessary facilities. They provide wonderful, freshly prepared local cuisine. You will be dancing, singing, and telling riddles beneath the night sky with nomads after supper. (dinner and breakfast)

We will awaken early to see the dawn, take photographs, and have breakfast. We will then ride camels back to the hotel, take a shower, and depart for Bomalne Dades through Rissani (date capital), Alnif hamlet, Tazarine tower, Nekoub's Kasbahs, and Draa valley.

Then, we will drive to Ouarzazate through the Anti Atlas Mountains for a visit to Kasbah Taourirte and Studio, followed by a hotel supper and breakfast.

Then you traverse the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi Ntichka Valley to your next destination in Marrakech, where our five-day journey concludes.
