You will land at the airport in Casablanca, where we will be waiting to pick you up. We will first take you to the city of Casablanca, and then on to Rabat. The Hassan II Mosque is the biggest mosque found outside of Mecca, and it can be found in Casablanca. As you make your way to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, you will see the Hassan Tower and take a stroll through the Oudaya Kasbah before checking into the riad that will serve as your home for the night in the center of the Medina.a.
Following breakfast at your riad, we will depart for the city of Chefchaouen, passing via the city of Asilah along the way. The majority of the trip will be spent driving along the coast. You will get the chance to look about the city when we first stop at Asilah, which will be our first destination. The majority of the walls within the Medina in Asilah have been painted by a variety of well-known painters from all over the globe as part of the city's yearly festival for the arts.
Your tour will take you to the Skalla stronghold, which offers a breathtaking panorama over the Medina and the water below. Following lunch, we will drive you outside of the Medina to view the entrance to the Royal Palace, then we will take you on a walking tour of the Jewish district known as "the Mellah," and finally we will take you to the pottery cooperative. We will pick you up in the afternoon and transport you to one of the strongholds so that you can get an incredible panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.
Following breakfast at your riad, you will depart in the direction of Merzouga, passing via Midelt and Errachidia en route. Ifran, often known as "the Switzerland of Morocco," will be your first destination.
From there, you will continue on to Merzouga by way of Midlet and the Ziz Valley. Throughout the course of your excursion, you will have opportunities to catch sight of both the Middle Atlas and the Higher Atlas mountains.
A stop will be made in the well-known cedar forest, which is the biggest in all of Morocco, and it is possible that you may see Barbary apes there. As you get closer to the city of Er Rachidia, you will see that the landscape starts to change, showing more signs of the desert. Following lunch in Midelt, you will continue your drive in the verdant Ziz Valley, pausing sometimes to take in the breathtaking vistas along the route. We will travel by car through friendly Berber communities to reach Erfoud, and then continue on to Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, which is Morocco's present governing royal family.
Upon arriving at Merzouga, you will immediately begin your camel ride, which will be conducted by a knowledgeable camel guy and allow you to explore the sand dunes of Merzouga. You will spend the night in our desert camp, which is also where you will eat supper. The campsite is furnished with flush toilets for your comfort and convenience.
Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning so you can see what may very well be the most beautiful sunrise of your whole life. After that, you will hike back to the settlement of Merzouga, and on the way, you won't be able to miss the amazing Erg Chebbi dunes and their ever-changing, breathtaking beauty as the sun moves throughout the day.
Following breakfast at your riad, you will travel to the Dades Valley and make a stop at the Todra Gorges, which are the tallest and narrowest gorges in all of Morocco.
Following lunch inside the valley, you will have the opportunity to go on an optional hour-long stroll through the fields. Along the way, you will have the chance to visit a historic mud village, where you will also have the chance to meet residents and learn about the culture.
Continue on into Dades Valley, where you'll get the chance to witness magnificent sand castles as well as the incredible rock formations known as "monkey toes." Your hotel, which looks out over the Dades valley, will be the place where you spend the night.
