Description Of 5 days desert journey in Morocco from Tangier to Marrakech

It includes the best places to see in Morocco and can be used for 5 days. Our trip will start in the north, in Tangier, and continue through Chefchaouen, also known as the “Blue City.” Here, we’ll spend three to four hours going around the city and looking at different sites. For example, we will go to the Kasbah Museum and the Ras El Ma waterfalls. At the end of the day, we will drive to Fes, a city with a lot of history.

The next day, we will take a tour of Fes, which has many famous places. We will go to places like the Tannery Chouara and Al Qarawiyyin, which is the oldest university in the world. After that, on the third day, we will drive through the Merzouga Sahara desert. Before that, we’ll stop in the Azrou forest to see the Barbary Macaque monkeys and drive through the “little Switzerland” of Ifrane.

In the Sahara desert, we will ride camels over Erg Chebbi, which has the biggest sand dunes in Morocco. We will also let you spend the night in a Berber tent.

The Todgha and Dades Gorges will be seen on the fourth and fifth days. Not only that, but we will also go to Ait Benhaddou, which is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is called “a Berber stronghold.” We will get to Marrakech in the end by going through Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains.

Itinerary : 5 days desert journey in Morocco from Tangier to Marrakech

We'll pick you up in Tangier to start our 5 days trip through the desert in Morocco. We will go see the blue pearl of Chefchaouen. There are a few things to find here. For example, we will go to the first building, which is a museum of Kasbah art with pictures and information about Chaouen. We will also walk along the blue walls to get to the river of Ras El Ma and its beautiful waterfalls. Overall, the best thing to do in Chefchaouen is to take pictures of and look at the blue houses. After that, we'll go to a famous Riad in Fes, where we'll spend the night.

On this day, we'll take you to Fes for a day trip, where we'll see a lot and do a lot of things. First, we'll go to one of the king's homes, which has seven golden gates that look great in pictures. Then, we'll take you to a beautiful lookout point in Borj Nord. You can see Fes from its highest point from here. If you're still interested, we could then go to Fes's famous tile cooperative.

Then, we'll take a walk of the old Medina, which most people know as Fes El Bali. We will enter the medina through Bab Boujloud, which is often called "the blue gate." From there, we will go to Al Qarawiyyin, which has the oldest university and mosque in the world. We will also go to the Madrassa of Attarine and the Bou Inania, which are two schools with interesting buildings. We will also go to one of Fes's three tanneries that make leather. The Chouara Tannery is the best known of the three.

At the end of the day, you'll take a ride back to your Riad, which may or may not have a hotel. So, after a long, hard day, you can relax with a nice Hamam or massage.

The next stop on our five-day trip to Morocco is Merzouga, the crown prize of all Morocco trips. Even with stops, it takes more than seven hours to get from Fes to Merzouga. So, our first stop will be Ifrane, which is known as the "little Switzerland of Morocco." There, we'll see the lion-headed Atlas memorial, which was made by a German prisoner in exchange for his freedom when France took over the area.

We will stop again at Azrou's grove of cedar trees. Here, we'll find out how Barbary monkeys (also called "apes") live, feed them, take pictures of them, and then head out to the desert.

After stopping at the Errachidia dam and the Ziz valley, you will get to Merzouga. Our camel guides will be waiting at the end of the sand dunes to take you on a camel ride across Erg Chebbi. Before taking you to the campsite, there will be a stop to watch the sunset.

We'll stop a few times on the way to Dades Gorges as we stick to our 5-day plan. If you're interested, we'll stop at one of Erfoud's natural fossil sites while we're there. Second, we will go to an old irrigation system not far from Erfoud to see how gardens were watered in the past. Then we'll go to the Todgha Gorges, which are Morocco's biggest valleys. Here, we'll take you for a walk along a river that runs through the mountains.

In the late afternoon, we'll go through the town of Dades and take the Gorges' pass. Then, we'll stop at the Monkey Toes, which are a group of mountains that look like this because of wind and rain. Then, we'll go to the Tissdrine bends, where the American car Cadillac set a record and got a lot of publicity. We will eventually take you to where you will stay for the night in the Gorges. Our five-day trip to Morocco is now over. Today was the fourth day.

After we've seen the Gorges of Todgha and Dades, we'll make our way to Marrakech by stopping at a few well-known places. First, we will go to Kalaat Mgouna, which is about 40 km from Dades. There, we'll go to one of the unions where things made from roses are made. In fact, the nearby river is called Rose Valley. Second, we will stop in Ouarzazate, a place known for its film business. So, there are several Atlas studios. If you want to, we can visit one of them, but you will need a ticket.

The Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a Berber castle made of bamboo, is the main thing we will see on this day. So, they call it a Kasbah by the Berber word for bamboo, which is Kasab. Several parts of movies were made there. They helped make movies like Lawrence of Arabia and the English-American thriller Gladiator. This isn't just a place for tourists to visit; it's also where history movies were made.

We will keep going across the Tichka Pass, where we will stop at an elevation of 2,260 meters. If you're interested, we can go to the argan oil company again. At the end of our 5 days trip through Morocco, we will take you to your hotel in Marrakech.
